The 0.2-acre Nimz Ranch Conservation Nursery(NRCN) is designed to hold and grow out native nursery stock for the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho’s (KTOI) wildlife habitat loss mitigation projects. Ideal product leaving the nursery will be hardy and large enough to survive in restoration sites. Producing seedlings large enough to outcompete invasive species in order to effectually contribute to a healthy and diverse wildlife habitat is the main priority. The target species have been selected for their historical presence in the area as described in an excerpt from the BCWMA titled “Scrub-Shrub Habitat and Floodplain Cottonwood Forest”. These species demonstrate the ability to out-compete reed canary grass and are most likely to thrive in the NRCN
